Thank you for doing your part in reducing, reusing, and recycling your daily waste - we cannot do it without you!
Recycling Centers have been made available in each locality throughout Region 2000. Listed below is information and links that will guide you in determining your nearest recycling drop-off location for those localities that are members of the Region 2000 Services Authority

How to Prepare
Rinse & Crush
Note:
- Labels are OK to leave on can
- This includes aluminum and steel/tin cans
Newspaper & Inserts
How to Prepare
All newspaper inserts are OK
Mixed Paper
How to Prepare
Flatten all boxes
Note:
- All paper products accepted (no wax paper)
- Food & detergent boxes are accepted when uncontaminated with food or oil
- Windowed envelopes and staples are OK
Plastic Bottles & Jugs
How to Prepare
Remove lids and discard in household trash
Rinse and crush
Note:
- Recycle #1 - #7 (e.g. soft drink bottles, milk jugs, and detergent bottles of any color)
Corrugated Cardboard
How to Prepare
Flatten all boxes
Note:
- Corrugated boxes have a "wavy" layer of cardboard inbetween two other layers of cardboard
Container Glass
How to Prepare
Remove lid
Note:
- Not recycled in Lynchburg or Campbell County
- All colors of glass bottles and jars can be recycled
Items listed below typically are not accepted at recycling drop-off centers but may be accepted at local recycling facilities.

- Plastic Boxes

- Styrofoam
- Medicine Bottles
- Clothing
- Batteries
- Ceramics
- Glassware
- Light Bulbs
- Mattresses
- Packing Peanuts
Remember:
Incorrect material and/or trash placed in recycling bins may cause contamination and cause the entire bin to be emptied into the Regional Landfill.
