Residential Usage Guidelines
Region 2000 Livestock Road Regional Landfill
City of Lynchburg and Campbell County Residents:
Residents of the City of Lynchburg and Campbell County may bring up to 500 pounds of residential household waste per calendar month to the Livestock Road Regional Landfill for free with no limit on the number of trips.
Should a resident exceed the 500 pound limit in a single calendar month, there will be a charge of $0.40 for every 20 pounds over the 500 pound limit.
Residents will be asked to verify their city or county residency with a valid driver’s license or current utility bill (within the last two months).
Special Notes:
The Livestock Road Regional Landfill and Concord Turnpike Convenience Center only accept
CASH or CHECK as forms of payment.
City of Lynchburg residents are encouraged to bring their residential household waste to the
Concord Turnpike Convenience Center. The same unlimited trips, up to 500 pounds, per
calendar month guidelines apply.
Campbell County residents are encouraged to use the Campbell County Landfill Center
located on Livestock Road (across the street from the livestock market) or any of the rural
transfer sites for disposing of residential household waste.
Campbell County residents must bring all large items such as appliances, mattresses,
furniture, tires and brush to the Campbell County Landfill Center.
According to Campbell County Code, shingles and dead animals must be taken to
the Livestock Road Regional Landfill and residents will be charged the
commercial tipping rate fee.

Appomattox County and Nelson County Residents:
Residents of these communities should continue to use the transfer stations or convenience centers established throughout their community. For more information on residential household waste disposal in either of one these communities, select the desired County from the following list:
Guidelines for Common Residential Waste Materials
BRUSH:
Any brush brought to the Livestock Road Regional Landfill will be charged at the commercial tipping rate fee. The free 500 pound per calendar month guideline does not apply to brush brought to the Livestock Road Regional Landfill.
Unlimited separated loads of brush (no stumps) will be accepted with no limits placed on the number of trips or weight only at the following locations:
For residents of the City of Lynchburg - Concord Turnpike Convenience Center
For residents of Campbell County - Campbell County Landfill Center
BULKY WASTE (furniture, household appliances, carpet, etc.):
Unlimited separated loads of any bulky waste will be accepted at the Livestock Road Regional Landfill.
The Concord Turnpike Convenience Center will accept some household appliances such as:
ranges, wall ovens, and dishwashers. However, the Concord Turnpike Convenience Center
will not accept the following appliances: air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, or any
appliance containing Freon.
INERT MATERIAL:
Unlimited separated loads of inert materials such as clean dirt, brick, block, and concrete without rebar are accepted free of charge only at the Livestock Road Regional Landfill.
Concord Turnpike Convenicence Center will not accept any loads of inert materials.
Inert materials must be fragmented into pieces less than one cubic foot and brought in separate loads, meaning that it cannot be mixed with other household waste.
Note: The scale house operator must be notified of any loads of inert material. The loads will be inspected to qualify as free disposal. If the load of inert material is found to be unacceptable (e.g. mixed with other household waste) the load will be weighed and charged the commercial tipping rate fee.
TIRES:
Tires are accepted at the Region 2000 Livestock Road Regional Landfill for rim sizes under 23" and are charged as noted below.
15" rim size or less - $2 charge per tire
15.5" rim size to 22.5" - $4 charge per tire
Note: Any tire with a rim size over 23" will not be accepted.
Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Disposal
Household hazardous waste such as used oil, oil-based paints, brake fluids, etc., should be brought to the Concord Turnpike Convenience Center during household hazardous waste collection days.
